I have felt like a slave
Grudgingly doing as asked

Spontaneity has its charms
A tight schedule lacks the harm

And a flock of lemmings
Can be stupid
Sometimes I don't think
I put on a CD
And relax
Before sleep takes over
As I surrender to

Slower than molasses.
Slow
Slower than an
old one lunger going uphill
in first gear.
Slower than a snow treading student
walking the ten mile
uphill strech to school
and back.
Slower than the guy
who rides his bike to
wal-mart and wears
his pants in
anticipation of a flood.
Slower than a clogged
septic pump and twice
as shitty.
I don't know how
to quicken my
pace.
I thought that
slow and steady won
the race.
Which makes me the
slowest of the slow.
